Get Off Autopilot - Morning Rituals

A few years ago, I wrote an article titled: Morning Ritual to Create Your Day in which I described how I use my morning coffee as a ritual to help create my day.

Today, I read something that reminded me of my article and I thought I would share it with you.

How many of us live our lives perpetually on “autopilot”? We have routines that have become so routine that we don’t even realize we’re doing them anymore. And it starts as soon as the alarm clock goes off in the morning. Many of us sleepwalk through our ‘morning routine’ and don’t really wake up until we’ve been awake for hours (if we wake up at all… but that’s a topic for another discussion).

So please consider Brett Kelly.

This man takes his coffee seriously. And I mean s-e-r-i-o-u-s-l-y. Read for yourself.

Now I’m not suggesting that we all need to become coffee aficionados or that we devote nearly as much time to our morning coffee as Brett does. I am, however, suggesting that we follow his lead and look at our morning rituals to discover how much of our life is run on autopilot and where can we make some changes to put some thoughtful, flavorful life back into the mix.
